If you're looking for an entry level BlackBerry then the 8520 Curve fits the bill. With a new navigation device called the Trackpad that replaces the annoying trackball used on previous Curve models, the phone is a pleasure to use.

The Curve 8520 has a full QWERTY keyboard, a basic camera, mobile email and a media player, as well as great memory and connectivity. Although it doesn't have all the high end features available with the more high end Blackberry phones it must be remembered that the 8520 is aimed more at the budget conscious user who wants to taste the Blackberry experience.

The Blackberry 8520 Smartphone is a slick phone, with the ability to control multimedia and music with dedicated media keys on the top. You can skip over songs, you can pause music or simply repeat your favourite tunes.

The trackpad navigation allows you to easily access what's important. Similar to that found on a laptop, the trackpad lets you scroll through information, menus and icons by gliding your finger across it, then press and click on an item and navigate where you want to go.

Fitting comfortably in the hand the Curve 8520 has a full QWERTY keyboard that makes sending texts and typing easy. With more than 65,000 colours the screen provides excellent viewing.

Uploading photographs to social networking sites such as Facebook and Myspace and photo sharing sites like Flickr is easy, as is sending photos to friends with MMS, blackberry Messenger or any other messaging application.

When the Blackberry Desktop Software (for the Mac) is used you can synchronise calendars, contacts and also notes with your most used desktop applications.

With the upcoming release of BlackBerry® Desktop Software for Mac you will be able to sync contacts, calendars, and notes with applications you use most.
